Fullabrook Windfarm CIC is managed by a team of local volunteers, all active community members living within the area of benefit. As our funds are derived from the owners of the Fullabrook Wind Farm, all grant applications must clearly demonstrate benefit to residents within 5km of a turbine in the Fullabrook Wind Farm, and primarily the 13 parishes in our catchment area - Ashford, Berrynarbor, Bittadon, Braunton, East Down, Georgeham, Heanton Punchardon, Ilfracombe, Marwood, Mortehoe, Shirwell, West Down, and West Pilton.
We generally prefer to fund capital or project costs, though an application for running costs will be considered within our small grants scheme. We currently offer four types of grant, and have increased the thresholds for each in 2023:
Main Grants – for capital or project costs where the request is in excess of £1,500. The maximum grant is £50,000 but is usually much less.
Small Grants – for capital purchases, project costs or running costs, where the request is £1,500 or less
Very Small Grants – for seed funding new projects and new start-ups where the request is £500 or less
Enriched Education Grants – accessible only to schools within the 13 parish catchment area, to support and enrich the education of local children. This fund can only be used to support non-statutory elements of education, such as school trips, music provision etc.
